Bike Week Events: Week long

Alongside the daily events programme, a number of Bike Week 2026 activities are running throughout the week, giving people even more opportunities to get involved. These include self‑guided activities, school and workplace initiatives, community challenges, and cycling opportunities that can be enjoyed at a time that suits you. Running across Cork City and County, these events highlight cycling as an easy, fun and practical way to stay active during Bike Week.

Whether you’re fitting cycling into your daily routine or taking part with family, friends, a school or workplace, all‑week events make it simple to join in.

Cycle Freedom | Midleton

Aim of The Event: The aim of our Cycle Freedom event is to promote a healthy and active lifestyle while showcasing the beauty of our local area. By offering free bike rentals during Bike Week, we aim to encourage people to get outdoors, explore the natural surroundings, and experience the joy of cycling.

Event Description: Celebrate Bike Week with the wind in your hair and the freedom of two wheels! Our Cycle Freedom event invites everyone to explore the stunning landscapes of Cork Harbour and East Cork—completely free of charge. Whether you’re drawn to the sweeping views of the Cork Harbour Greenway or the peaceful paths of the Midleton-Youghal Greenway, we’ve got you covered. Free standard bike hire will be available from our three convenient depots in Cork City, Midleton, and Youghal. It’s the perfect chance to grab a friend, bring the family, or enjoy some solo pedalling as you discover hidden gems and breathe in that fresh Cork air. Please note: e-bikes are not included as part of this promotion. With something for every kind of rider, Cycle Freedom is about reconnecting with the outdoors, embracing a healthier lifestyle, and enjoying the simple joy of cycling.

Camino Cycle | Cobh

Aim of The Event: For members to cycle the distance of the Camino Way

Event Description: Cycle challenge – Laps of the Great Island Cobh & refreshments after in the local rugby club.

Tour de Cork - Children's Art Competition

Aim of The Event: Highlight cycling as a mode of transport, form of exercise, fun solo/family activity

Event Description: Tour de Cork – Children’s Art Competition. Children around Cork County will be in with a chance to see their cycling themed art entry printed on a t-shirt. Go to your local library, pick up an entry form and start drawing!

Women on Wheels, Social Cycle to Cobh | Blackrock

Aim of The Event: Social cycle. incentive for women to get back on bike and connect. Kick start summer cycling.

Event Description: 30km social cycle from Blackrock Castle to Cobh for lunch and return. Open to women who have completed the Women on Wheels programme in years 2022-26. Women will be invited through WhatsApp groups.

Cycling Without Age Trishaw Cycles Clonakilty

Aim of The Event: Elderly & People with mobility issues being able to join events

Event Description: Try out our Cycling without Age Trishaw at any Clonakilty Bike Circus event – suitable for those with limited mobility and the elderly to get the wind in their hair! book in a spin of the town with one of Clonakilty Bike Circus pilots.

Bike Week Art Exhibition

Aim of The Event: To create a positive aspirational image of cycling and an opportunity to associate cycling positively with social group activity.

Event Description: For a decade local Cork artists have been hard at work creating their bike art masterpieces. And this year will a retrospective of previous year’s Bike Week art exhibitions and last years International Mail Art Call. Opening reception from 6:30pm on Thursday the 8th. We look forward to seeing you there! The exhibition will remain open for viewing all through Bike Week 4:30-11:30pm including during several Bike Week events in the Friary.

Sprocket Rocket Video Series

Cork Sports Partnership, Wild Atlantic Sports and Cycling Ireland are delighted to bring an interactive 6 part Sprocket Rocket series to Cork families! Sprocket Rocket is a fun skills programme where children aged 5 to 11 are taught four FUNdamental cycling skills. The programme focuses on skills such as pedalling, braking and balance. It is ideal for learning and developing skills and can be delivered by clubs, teachers, parents or anyone else involved with young cyclists.
