Overview & Criteria

Cork Sports Partnership engages qualified and experienced contractors to deliver community sport and physical activity programmes and initiatives across Cork each year. 

The selection of contractors is on an ad-hoc basis and via an expression of interest process, where a panel may be formed of those who meet the required criteria.

Cork Sports Partnership may seek expertise/experience in the following areas across the calendar year:

Sports:

  • Primary School Athletics
  • Community Couch25K
  • Disability Sports
  • Other sports-specific areas

Physical Activity:

  • Older Adults Exercise
  • Children & Adolescent Exercise/Physical Activity
  • Community exercise or physical activity programmes

Selection Criteria: 

  • VAT registered / Tax Compliant
  • Professional indemnity insurance will be required for all contractors/sole traders. 
  • Qualification in Exercise/Fitness Instruction, Sports Coaching or Similar (e.g QQI Level 5/6, Higher Certificate, Degree) NCEF, REPs, EHFA accreditation.
  • Experience working with the above target groups or sports, and or in the fitness industry.
  • Ability to advise, inform, motivate, and support individuals, especially those with low participation levels.

Selection Process

Cork Sports Partnership will select contractors who meet the above criteria. If selected, contractors will be required to coordinate programmes and initiatives in line with CSP requirements. 

Please note that programmes and initiatives are run on an ad-hoc basis during the calendar year and are subject to funding.

All successful contractors will be required to complete Cork LSP’s contractor onboarding process, including:

  • Submission of Garda Vetting documentation
  • Tax clearance Access / Confirmation of VAT registration
  • Professional indemnity insurance
  • Sign the Cork LSP Contract for Services & Information Booklet
  • Completion of SEPA form for payment
  • Compliance with CLSP Safeguarding, Data Protection, and Health & Safety policies

The Contractor Information Booklet outlines Cork LSP’s key policies and expectations relating to professional conduct, safeguarding, confidentiality, and data management. Adherence to these policies is mandatory for all contractors.

Please note: This is an expression of interest process only, for the purpose of forming a panel to deliver programmes throughout the county and city. Inclusion on the panel does not constitute a contract of employment or guarantee of work. All programme delivery is subject to Cork Sports Partnership’s funding and operational priorities.
