Bike Week Events: Saturday May 16th 2026

Bike Week 2026 continues on Saturday, 16 May, with a fantastic range of weekend cycling events taking place across Cork. The day offers something for everyone, including family‑friendly activities, guided leisure cycles, mountain biking opportunities, and events designed to help people try cycling in a fun and supportive environment. With more time to take part, Saturday is ideal for exploring new routes, enjoying the outdoors and cycling together as a community.

Whether you’re bringing the family, meeting friends, or trying something new on two wheels, Saturday has an event for you.

Women’s Early Morning Cycle & Sauna | Garrettstown area

Aim of The Event: Encourage women to cycle and socialise together.

Event Description: Meet in Ballinspittle. Enjoy a group lesiure cycle along the coast including Garrettstown beach plus the Old Head of Kinsale, before a 30 minute sauna at the beach in Garrylucas. There will be 4 ebikes available for use on the day, plus pannier bags to carry towels etc

Fountainstown Bike Doctor Workshop | Fountainstown

Aim of The Event: To provide a bike Doctor workshop at the beach in Fountainstown

Harbour Horizons: Guided eBike Tour from Cork to Passage West

Aim of The Event: The aim of Harbour Horizons is to introduce participants to the joy and accessibility of e-biking through a scenic, guided journey along the Cork Harbour Greenway. By combining gentle exercise with stunning coastal views, this event encourages active travel and local exploration.

Event Description: Hop on your bike and explore one of Cork’s most scenic and relaxing cycling routes, the Cork to Passage West Greenway. Stretching from the heart of the city, this easy 22 km (return) route follows the old Cork, Blackrock and Passage Railway line, offering smooth paths, gentle gradients, and stunning views along the River Lee and Cork Harbour.

Who can take part: This tour is open to adults (18+) who are happy cycling on the road and comfortable riding with others. If you’ve got a bit of cycling confidence and fancy a fun spin with great views and good company, we’d love to have you along!

Learn to Cycle for adults | Skibbereen

Aim of The Event: To guide adults to cycle in a supportive environment 

Event Description: Safe and supportive environment for adults who would like to learn to cycle

Supper Cycle to Timoleague | Clonakilty

Aim of The Event: We would like to make this celebration accessible for all the volunteers at the Bike Circus – so we are asking for funding to cover meal costs

Event Description: Come help us celebrate 15 years of Clon Bike Fest! We will cycle via Ring & Timoleague bay, take in the natural beauty and then join us for a delicious celebratory lunch at Monk;s Lane, back to Clon by 7:30pm-ish. Contact us by email to book – very limit

Aim of The Event: To bring our community together & celebrate the end of our 15th year of Clon Bike fest

Event Description: Come help us celebrate 15 years of Clon Bike Fest with Bikeoke! Location TBC – check back for details or email.

Otter Cycle | Cork City

Aim of The Event: To get people on their bikes in a pleasant and social atmosphere, secondarily to familiarise people with the various routes, parks, greenways etc. 

Event Description:

Nothing is more magical than seeing an otter or seal in the heart of the city and you can see them most days if you know what you’re looking for.
And while we are getting our eye in, and waiting for the otters to appear, we can see & hear the story of miniature natural wildernesses hidden in the cracks & hollows of the quay walls of Cork.
Learn how nature finds a way and thrives even in the heart of the city.
Part of Bike Week & Biodiversity Week.

Who can take part: A very slow and easy cycle particularly suitable for less confident cyclists.

Bikers Big Bike Week BBQ, Festive Picnic, Music & Games at the Lough. | Cork City

Aim of The Event: To reach the largest possible number of people living in Cork with positive images of cycling and inform them of bike week and the events during the week.

Event Description:

Join us for a fun celebration of cycling culture in Cork (+ a free picnic & live music).
You can join us from 3pm for a Festive Picnic, Music & Games at the Lough.
Just turn up on your bike at the Lough.
We’ll have a soft drink, salad, bread and meat/vegan option for each cyclists and please feel free to bring along picnic rugs, folding chairs, more food drinks etc.
After the Picnic we’ll have a relaxed social evening in the pleasant surroundings of the Lough as well as some bike games and live Music.

Bike art Workshop | Cork City

Aim of The Event: To create opportunities for people to bond socially with cyclists in a manner that creates an ongoing social expectation to cycle and forms the habit of utility cycling around everyday social activity.

Event Description:

We will provide everything you need and some gentle guidance for you to create your own bike-themed masterwork celebrating the joy and freedom of cycling.
And all free! We’ll be sketching outdoor scenes so weather dependant.

Who can take part: Suitable for all from toddlers on balance bikes to the very oldest. Under 18’s accompanied please.

Bike Doctor @Togher Community Garden | Togher

Aim of The Event: To offer free checks, minor repairs and advice

Event Description: Mechanics from Cork Community Bikes will thoroughly check your bike and carry out any small repairs as needed. We’ll explain and give advice on looking after your bike.

Fix Your Bike special session | Blackpool

Aim of The Event: To help people learn to fix their own bike

Event Description: This special Fix Your Bike session will allow people to learn to fix their bike with help from mechanics. Mechanics will run through full bike checks with you, and a limited amount of small parts will be offered for free for repairs. Refreshments provided
