Cork Sports Partnership and Rowing Ireland have teamed up to roll out Get Going…Get Rowing Indoor PE and On-The-Water Programmes!
These classes introduce 6th class primary school pupils and all secondary school students to the sport of rowing in a supportive, safe environment.
For Indoor PE, Get Going…Get Rowing brings rowing machines to your school and sends a coach for 6 weeks, training students in proper technique and helping them have fun while improving their fitness and working toward a Gold, Silver, or Bronze medal certificate for their performance in different metrics
For On-The-Water classes, you’ll travel to one of our partner rowing clubs for a 2-to-3 hour session rowing on the water in one of our ultra-stable touring boats, learning about rowing on rowing machines, and playing fun team-building games. These classes are taught by experienced rowers who are certified coaches; capacity is limited to 30 students per class.
The cost of the programme is €20 per pupil for 6 weeks of Indoor PE and €110 to €160 for On-The-Water classes. Rowing Ireland invoices schools directly.

Get Going … Get Rowing is an initiative by Rowing Ireland to develop and encourage young people in schools and beyond to try indoor rowing. An interactive programme has been developed by Rowing Ireland specifically for teachers and their students to encourage kids to try indoor rowing and benefit from the obvious health and well-being that comes with rowing.
