Men’s Health Week with Cork Sports Partnership 9th -15th June 2025
International Men’s Health Week begins on the Monday before Father’s Day and ends on Father’s Day itself. During 2025, it will run from Monday 9th until Sunday 15th June.
As part of the initiative Cork Sports Partnership have teamed up with a number of local clubs and organisations to promote the benefits of physical activity in men’s health.

Info: Mountaineering Ireland’s Happy Hiking Hills Skills Programme returns in Summer 2025 for its fourth year. These Hill Skills Days are a great opportunity for anyone new to the hills or those who want to learn the basics of navigation to join a qualified instructor for a full day’s training and to gain useful information and skills that will help keep you safe on the hills.
This programme is subsidised by Mountaineering Ireland. The registration fee for each Hill Skills Day is €20. This programme is for adults only, and both members and non-members of Mountaineering Ireland are welcome..
This Hill Skills day will be based in Cork and will start from Gougane Barra, a scenic valley and heritage site in the Shehy Mountains of County Cork.

Cork Sports Partnership, Cork County Council and Ballinacarriga and Lisblead Community Association are delighted to launch their new community fitsticks trail.
To launch the new community amenity there will be FREE activator pole tasters.

The Castle fitsticks trail will encourage community walking on a gentle, safe and peacful route around the community sports facilites. The trail has information boards encouraging suitable warm-up exercises and along the route markers will encourage different gentle exercises. The use of the trail and exercise markers can be further enhanced by using walking sticks or activator poles.
The route is 1km in length and is perfect for recreational walkers especially older adults.

Info: If you have never used a gym before but want to be shown how to use a Treadmill, Bike, X-Trainer and even our weight machines, register for our FREE induction session. Our instructor will walk you through how to start/setup the equipment and some basic instructions on how to get started safely. You wont get a personal program but you can discuss your ideas and needs with the instructor, and they can give advice on what your next steps can be, and that can include getting your own individual program design booked in for another day.
