Free Orienteering Coaching Sessions for School Children
A four week programme aimed at getting more school children into the sport of orienteering at club level
“How to read a map and how to develop a systematic approach to navigation”
Programme Outline:
- Wednesday evenings from 7.30pm to 8.30pm
- Aimed at Third, Fourth, Fifth & Sixth Classes Primary and all Secondary Year ages
- A walkabout with instructors (no competition, no timing, no running)
- Admission is free (covered by Cork Sports Partnership, the Irish Schools Orienteering Association & Bishopstown Orienteering Club)
- Places on the course are limited
Programme Dates:
- Session 1: Wed 1st June | Tramore Valley Park, Cork City (car park by main entrance) | 7.30pm
- Session 2: Wed 8th June | The Marina Park (GAA car park near the Atlantic Pond) | 7.30pm
- Session 3: Wed 15th June | Murphy’s Farm & MTU Campus (Bishopstown Tennis Club car parks) | 7.30pm
- Session 4: Wed 22nd June | Ballincollig Regional Park (GAA car park entrance) | 7.30pm
