Activator Walking Pole Programmes Autumn 2025

Cork Sports Partnership, in collaboration with fitWALK Ireland, is excited to announce the launch of a new series of Activator Pole Walking Programmes this September. These sessions are specially designed to support individuals with balance concerns or mobility challenges, including those living with arthritis, Parkinson’s disease, or acquired brain injuries.

What Are Activator Poles?
Activator poles are a therapist-designed adaptation of Nordic Walking poles, developed in Canada to enhance stability, promote better posture, and improve overall mobility. Unlike traditional Nordic walking, the ACTIVATOR technique is tailored for rehabilitation and support, making it ideal for people of all fitness levels.

Programme Highlights
Led by trained exercise professionals, these 6-week programmes offer participants the chance to:

  • Learn and practice the unique ACTIVATOR technique
  • Improve balance, strength, and confidence in movement
  • Connect with others in a supportive, group-based setting
