Strength & Conditioning for Female Athletes Workshop

As part of Women in Sport Week 2026, Cork Sports Partnership, in collaboration with Munster Technological University (MTU), is delighted to host a dedicated Strength & Conditioning Workshop for Female Athletes. This empowering session is designed to support women in sport through evidence-based training insights, practical skill‑building, and informed performance development.

Led by Laura Dyson, lecturer in the MTU Early Childhood, Sport & Leisure Department, the workshop will explore key areas central to female athletic performance, including:

  • Strength development tailored to female physiology
  • Injury prevention strategies backed by current research
  • Performance monitoring and progression
  • Practical conditioning techniques for sport-specific demands

This interactive workshop blends theory and practical participation, giving attendees the chance to deepen their understanding while experiencing applied training concepts firsthand. Whether you’re an athlete, coach, student, or someone passionate about supporting women in sport, this workshop offers a valuable opportunity to learn, connect, and enhance the standards of female performance within the sporting community.
