Youth Leader Basketball Programme 2026
Cork Sports Partnership, Cork City Council & Cork ETB are delighted to launch a new Youth Leader Basketball Programme this April during the Easter break! Delivered in person from Fr Matthews Arena this programme aims to support & develop youth participants coaching skills, confidence and leadership in a supportive environment!
Programme Details:
  • 7th – 9th April 2026
  • 10am-2/4pm each day
  • Fr Matthews Arena
  • 16-21 Year Olds | Male & Female
  • Sports Half Zip Included
  • Lunch and refreshments provided
  • Limited Places Available!

What is involved?

  • Full attendance and participation is required on each of the following workshops and courses:
    • Tues 7th April: Disability Awareness in Sport 10am-11.30am, Child Protection in Sport 12-2pm
    • Wed 8th April: Sports First Aid 10am-12pm
    • Thurs 9th April: Basketball Ireland Intro Coaching Course 10am-4pm

Criteria:

  • Participants must be aged between 16-21 years old. Those under 18 will require permission from a parent or guardian. – Parent/guardian will be required to register on their behalf
  • Have in interest in coaching children, experience not required
  • Commit to attending all course dates and actively engage in each workshop
  • Participants assisting as coaches following the programme will be required to be Garda vetted
  • Interested participants will be required to give a short background on why they would like to participate on this programme
