Cork Sports Partnership is delighted to support Lee Rowing Club with a new Learn To Row Programmes This January!

Aimed at boys and girls who have never rowed before and want to discover the sport in a fun environment with experienced coaches. Participants must be able to swim. This Learn to Row Programme consists of 16 sessions over 4 weeks: Monday and Wednesday evenings from 6 to 7.30 p.m., on Saturdays from 7.30-9.30am and Sundays from 9-11am

Programme Details:

  • Programme Start Date: Mon, 23rd Feb 2026 (16 sessions)
  • Venue: Lee Rowing Club, The Marina
  • Times: Saturdays 7.30am-9.30am, Sundays 9-11am, Monday & Wednesdays 6pm – 7.30pm
  • Cost: €100pp
  • Who: 6th Class Primary School and 1st Year Secondary School Students (Boys & Girls minimum age 12)

The programme will cover all the basics of rowing, including:

  • Learning about safety on and off the water
  • Introduction to the boathouse
  • Introduction to the equipment used
  • Introduction to rowing on the indoor rowing machine
  • Carrying the boat safely to and from the water
  • Learning how to get into and out of the boat correctly
  • Learning the rowing stroke on the water
  • Building rowing strokes on the water
  • Rowing in time together as a whole crew
  • Land-based fitness training
