HER Outdoors Week Cork Events 2025

HER Outdoors Week Cork Events 2025

This August, join women and girls across Ireland in celebrating the joy, freedom, and empowerment of the great outdoors during HER Outdoors Week 2025. Whether you’re a seasoned adventurer or just starting your journey into outdoor activity, this week is your invitation to step outside, try something new, and connect with nature on your own terms.
HER Outdoors Week is a national initiative by Sport Ireland designed to celebrate and encourage more females to experience the benefits of outdoor physical activity. From hiking and kayaking to yoga on the beach or mountain biking, the week is all about visibility, opportunity, and empowerment.
For such a small island, Ireland offers an incredible variety of outdoor experiences—and HER Outdoors Week is the perfect time to explore them.
Whether it’s a sunrise swim, a mountain hike, or a peaceful walk in your local park, HER Outdoors Week is your chance to reconnect—with nature, with others, and with yourself.
So mark your calendar, lace up your boots, and get ready to embrace your space this August.

This cross was erected in 1933 but the site itself dates back about 3000 years to the bronze age. The mound at the summit forms ‘Carn Thiernagh’ and they say that the Druid Mogh Ruith is buried here. You will also find the remains of a ring fort that dates back to the early Iron Age. The path to the summit is marked by the fourteen stations of the cross. These crosses are marked by stone monuments along the trail. The trail is pleasant and the area is a beautiful evergreen commercial woods. The trail is easy-going and suitable for most fitness levels.
