Cork Sports Partnership and Ballinacarriga & Lisbealad Community Association are delighted to invite members of the community to take part in a FREE Fitsticks/Activator Walking Pole Walk as part of European Week of Sport 2026.
This enjoyable community event will take place on Saturday, September 26th, from 11:00am to 12:30pm, and is open to walkers of all abilities.
The walk will take place on the Castle Fitsticks Trail, a gentle and peaceful 1km route that winds around the community sports facilities. Designed to encourage regular community walking and physical activity, the trail features information boards with suitable warm-up exercises, while route markers highlight simple movements and exercises that participants can try along the way.
Using Fitsticks or Activator Poles can further enhance the walking experience by improving posture, balance, stability and overall fitness. The trail is particularly suitable for recreational walkers and older adults looking to stay active in a safe and welcoming environment.
Following the walk, participants can enjoy light refreshments and the opportunity to connect with others in the community.
