Cork Swim Week | Sports Inclusion and Disability Awareness 

As part of Cork Swim Week 2026, Cork Sports Partnership, in conjunction with Active Disability Ireland, is delighted to provide a Sport Inclusion and Disability Awareness Workshop. 

The SIDA workshop is an introductory level 90-minute workshop designed to build awareness around people with disabilities participating in community sport and physical activity. 

Who is the Workshop For?  

Coaches, instructors, volunteers, parents and anyone working with people with disabilities in the health, sport or education sector to facilitate and promote physical activity.

Content Includes: 

  • Disability Models
  • Types of Disability 
  • Barriers to participation in sport and physical activity
  • TREE Inclusion Tool 
  • Adapting Activities
  • Inclusive Communication 
  • Introduction to Sport Inclusion Charter

Workshop Details

  • Location: Online
  • Date: Monday, April 13th 
  • Time: 6.30 – 8pm 
  • Cost: FREE

On completion of the workshop, participants will receive an Active Disability Ireland Certificate of Participation. 

Participants must be aged 16 years or older. If under 18, a parent/guardian must complete the registration.
