Group Description:
Pickled Sports is a Cork-based pickleball coaching, participation and events initiative focused on helping more people discover and enjoy the sport. We run professional beginner and improver coaching, social/open play, leagues, events and other opportunities for players to get involved.
Our coaching sessions are structured 90-minute sessions led by an IPTPA Level 2 coach, with clear learning objectives, practical takeaways and supporting materials so players can continue developing between sessions. Participants also have access to a dedicated community forum and WhatsApp group for updates, questions, session follow-up and connecting with other players.
Our current East Cork coaching base is Midleton College, while we are also developing activities and partnerships across Cork. Alongside the commercial side of Pickled Sports, I volunteer within the local pickleball community, including supporting an Active Retirement group and delivering sessions for people with additional needs.
The aim is to make pickleball accessible, welcoming and social, while creating clear pathways from somebody trying the sport for the first time through to regular social play, coaching, leagues and competitive events.

Cost: Costs vary depending on the activity. Professional beginner and improver coaching is delivered in structured 90-minute sessions, typically through 4-week blocks at around €70, with PAYG places around €20 where available. Coaching includes takeaway materials and access to a dedicated community forum and WhatsApp group for follow-up and player support.
We also run social/open play, typically €10 for 2 hours or €15 for 3 hours, as well as leagues, tournaments and other events where entry fees vary depending on the format. Pickled Sports also supports community and volunteer-led activity, including work with older adults and people with additional needs, where sessions may be free, subsidised or organised separately.
What day(s) of the week does your group play?
Sessions are run on Saturdays, Sundays and other selected dates depending on the programme. Pickled Sports runs coaching blocks, social play, leagues and events rather than operating one fixed weekly session.
Times vary by programme. Weekend coaching and social play are currently the main activities, with individual league fixtures, clinics and events scheduled separately.
