Cork Outdoors Week 2026

A Celebration of Adventure, Activity and the Great Outdoors

County Cork is set to embrace the outdoors like never before as the inaugural Cork Outdoors Week takes place from 15th–23rd August, offering people of all ages and abilities the chance to get active, try something new and discover the incredible natural amenities on their doorstep.

Running over nine days, Cork Outdoors Week will showcase the very best of outdoor recreation across the county, with a packed programme of activities designed to encourage more people to experience the physical, mental and social benefits of spending time outdoors.

Whether you’re an experienced adventurer or looking to take your first step into a new activity, there will be opportunities to get involved in a wide range of pursuits, including hill walking, kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding, open water swimming, sauna experiences, cycling, orienteering, sailing, rowing and much more.

The initiative aims to celebrate Cork’s unique outdoor landscape while inspiring individuals, families and communities to make the most of the county’s mountains, rivers, coastline, trails and blue spaces.

Beachfest Returns to Inchydoney

Kicking off Cork Outdoors Week in style, the ever-popular Beachfest returns to Inchydoney Beach on Saturday, 15th August, bringing a full day of fun, activity and excitement to one of Ireland’s most iconic coastal locations.

Visitors can enjoy a wide variety of beach and water-based activities, including:

  • Beach volleyball
  • Lacrosse
  • Yoga
  • Pilates
  • Beach tag rugby
  • Orienteering
  • Family-friendly games and activities
  • And much more

Beachfest promises something for everyone, from young children and families to seasoned outdoor enthusiasts looking to try a new challenge.

Cork Sports Partnership has teamed up with Volleyball Ireland and Inchydoney Surf School to host a fun day of volleyball and surfing on Inchydoney Beach on the 15th of August 2026.

Inclusive Aquathlon

Swim Ireland, Triathlon Ireland, Wheelchair Association of Ireland & Cork Local Sports Partnership are collabrationing together to bring to you a Wheelchair Aquathlon designed especially for teenage girls aged 10-17 years.

This three-day event combines swimming and wheelchair racing in a fun, supportive, and empowering environment where participants can build confidence, fitness, and friendships.

Whether you are new to adaptive sport or already competing, this event welcomes all ability levels. Qualified coaches will be on hand throughout the programme to provide professional coaching and guidance.

This 3 day event will take place in Fermoy Leisure Centre on the 5th 6th and 7th of August from 12:15pm – 2:15pm.
