Clonakilty Sanctuary Runners Invite Community to Walk, Jog or Run Together

Clonakilty is set to benefit from an inclusive and welcoming community initiative as the Clonakilty Sanctuary Runners extend an open invitation to people of all ages and abilities to take part in their weekly meet-ups.

Taking place every Saturday at 9:20am, the group meets at The Show Grounds, Park Road Entrance (P85 D654), offering locals a relaxed opportunity to walk, jog or run together in a supportive and social environment.

Building Community Through Movement

Sanctuary Runners is known for bringing people together from all backgrounds, creating a space where connection and wellbeing are prioritised over pace or performance. The Clonakilty group continues this ethos, encouraging participation from both experienced runners and those who simply want to enjoy a gentle walk.

The initiative aims to strengthen community ties while promoting physical activity, inclusion and friendship in a welcoming, non-competitive setting.

What to Expect

Participants can look forward to:

  • A friendly, inclusive atmosphere open to everyone
  • The option to walk, jog, or run at their own pace
  • A complimentary Sanctuary Runners T-shirt
  • Refreshments after each session, providing an opportunity to socialise and connect

Whether attending alone or with friends, newcomers will find a warm welcome and a supportive group ready to meet them where they are.

Open to All

The Clonakilty Sanctuary Runners emphasise that everyone is welcome, regardless of fitness level, background or experience. The group is committed to creating a safe and inclusive space that reflects the diversity of the wider community.

Get Involved

Those interested in joining can simply turn up on the day—no registration required. For further information, contact Olive on 083 408 3621.

This initiative presents a simple but powerful way to stay active, meet new people and be part of a positive community movement in Clonakilty.
