National Bike Week was launched in 2009 to raise the profile of cycling as a healthy and fun mode of transport and physical activity.
The initiative was developed by the Department of Transport, Tourism and Sport and continues to grow each year. Bike Week is organised locally by Local Authorities, Local Sports Partnerships, Community Groups, Clubs, Schools and other interested cycling stakeholders.
This year promises to continue this growth trend with a great quantity and variety of events for the public to choose from.
