Orienteering for all Abilities

Cork Sports Partnership and Irish Orienteering Association seek to increase opportunities for people with disabilities to enjoy orienteering based activities in Cork.

Cork Sports Partnership and Irish Orienteering Association are delighted to welcome staff from disability services across Cork to upskill in Orienteering through the ‘Ready To Go Orienteering’ Programme 2021. The aim of this programme is to enable staff in services to provide orienteering as a fun, safe and enjoyable activity for adults with disabilities to be active.

‘Ready to Go Orienteering’ is an Irish Orienteering Association initiative, aimed at introducing and promoting the sport of orienteering and providing participants with an introductory training and resources to successfully take part in and lead orienteering.

In return for full commitment to the programme, each staff member will receive the following:

  • Ready To Go Orienteering Training – Online (2hours) and Practical (3 hours)
  • Resource Folder
  • Equipment pack (10 kites, 10 punches and 100 control cards)
  • Event opportunities
  • Optional disability service mapping service (additional cost depending on the size and location of the service)

For more information on any of the above, please contact Sports Inclusion Disability Officer, Sinead Kelly skelly@corksports.ie
