TY Sports Coaching Programme 2024/25

Back for 2024, Cork Sports Partnership is delighted to announce we are now accepting registrations for the popular TY Sports Coaching Programme 2024/25. This programme will run for a limited number of students from Cork Secondary Schools during 2024/25 school year.
The aim of the programme is to upskill and develop Transition Year students by completing a package of National Governing Body Of Sport Coaching Courses. Students will then be given the opportunity to plan, run and co-ordinate internal school blitzes. Students will also be provided with the opportunity to support the delivery of a number of Cork Sports Partnership School events during the year which will provide hands on experience of mass participation events.
Please note:
  • Max 4 student places per school | 6 schools will be accepted
  • Schools will be selected on a first come first served basis, attend all course dates, ability to host one coaching course date and commit to deliver follow on sessions within your school
In return for full commitment to the programme, each student will receive qualifications and resources from the following sports coaching courses which will be held in the successful host schools:
 
Courses & Dates:
  1. Irish Olympic Handball Association | Level 1 & Referee Course (Wed, 16th Oct – Bishopstown CS)
  2. Rowing Ireland | Get Going Going Rowing Coaching Course (Thurs, 7th Nov – Edmund Rice College Carrigaline)
  3. Athletics Ireland | Athletics Assistant Coach Course (Thurs, 28th Nov – MTU Sports Track)
  4. Volleyball Ireland | Foundation Level Coaching Course (Thurs, 23rd Jan in a host school)
  5. Disability Sports Inclusion Course (Thurs, 27th Feb in a host school)
  6. FAI | PDP1 Coaching Course (Thurs, 21st March – Colaiste Choilm Ballincollig)
