 Bike Week Wild Walls Of Cork

In collaboration with biodiversity week. A guided tour of the nature and wildlife to be found living in on and around old walls in Cork city centre.

Suitability: will be shorter, slower route and so be particularly suited to less confident cyclists

City Streets Open For Cycling
Cork Cycling Campaign will lead cycles from key points of the city into the city centre which is Open for Cycling on this day.

Suitability: Cyclists of all ages, routes are a mix of segregated and non-segregated roads.

Bike Week Cycle To Crosshaven

A cycle out to Crosshaven out the old railway greenway. There will be a break for a picnic in Crosshaven before beginning the journey back to the city.

Suitability: Adults. Will be suitable for all those capable of competent road cycling and covering medium distances including older children under supervision or on their parent’s bikes. Will be longer, faster, and involve busier roads and so be particularly suited to more confident cyclists

Stop, Look, Listen Cycle

Social & appreciation of music & nature. Cycle a lap of the town to the biodiversity garden at Bennetts Field, and listen to 3 pieces of music on the theme of nature and biodiversity.

Festival Finale – ‘Waste Not want Not’ Curry & Bikeoke

Social, fun & family friendly celebration for the end of Bike Week – in collaboration with Clonakilty’s Waste Not, Want Not food waste reduction initiative.  Curry & Bikeoke party!  Meet at Emmet Square for a 5 km cycle around Clonakilty to arrive at O’Donovans for a curry feast prepared by local chef Gillian Hegarty followed by our super popular Bikeoke party!

Rainbow Cycle

The Rainbow Cycle with Gay Project & Queer Bike Rides Cork! This year Gay Project is teaming up with the newly formed Queer Bike Rides Cork to highlight the group and support their growth through this joint effort. The group provides a safe and inclusive space for individuals within the LGBT+ community to connect and build relationships while enjoying a shared interest in cycling. Additionally the event aims to promote physical activity and mental well-being to a community that faces unique health disparities. Social cycle for LGBTI+ adults along the Marina Greenway route followed by coffee and chats. The cycle will be led by trained ride leaders. Bikes can be provided for up to 20 participants so all members of the community have less barriers to participation. Participants are also welcome to bring their own bikes.

Tune Trail
A fun cycling event for Cork. Cyclists are encouraged to dress up in their most colourful outfits – the more outrageous, the better! (All wheels welcome)  Bling your bikes to the max – fairy lights, bike lights, reflective gear.  The Tune Trail will start at the new Marina Park (by Páirc Uí Chaoimh) and stop at a couple of parks en route, for a break, chat and a dance! Playlist will be downloadable before the event – bring your bluetooth speakers – we’ll all press play at the same time!

Picnic Cycle to the Beach through beautiful Liss Ard estate , Aimed at children and families and members of the Skibbereen Cycle Bus to have a protected cycle to fun destinations with delicious food. Enjoy a gentle cycle with off road locations through beautiful Liss Ard Estate and stunning Tragumna beach. Delicous food will be provided before a cycle back through Liss Ard to Skibbereen.

To involve the local community, particularly families and lapsed cyclists, to join us for a bike ride, a bike ride from Bandon along the Quay Road, which is a safe cycling route and back to the local playground/park.  There we will then have a community picnic with participants and show people how to use the bike repair facility located by the playground.

The Blue and Green Family Fun Cycle, The aim of the event is to make cycling an enjoyable event for both adults and children, and to get people excited about cycling again. This will give people an opportunity to get comfortable cycling around their town, and get used to the one way system in operation. At the end of the event there will also be an opportunity for people to learn a bit more about bike maintenance and repair, as well as have their bikes checked by a professional.
